Fortune Lists Salt Lake City Among Best
Posted September 6, 2011 By C. Lythgoe in News With | No Comments
Salt Lake City is one of two U.S. cities making Fortune magazine’s list of the world’s “15 best new cities for business. Fortune looks at economic data, they talk with business leaders about where they plan to open new offices and factories and they talk to local business leaders.
“This was an opportunity to showcase how Utah is business-friendly, with low taxes and low energy costs, an impressive workforce and one of the strongest local economies,” Governor Gary Herbert said. “I was thrilled to see Salt Lake City get this well-deserved and timely recognition.”
Salt Lake City’s desirability with low taxes, low-cost utilities, and numerous start-ups coming out of the University of Utah are prime reasons that Salt Lake City is one of the Fortune cities.
